(Wenzhou, Zhejiang—Aug. 7, 2015) Six Christians in China’s coastal Zhejiang province were injured during a conflict with authorities on Thursday while they attempted to peacefully defend their church’s cross.
When Wenzhou authorities arrived to the Wuyuan Christian Church in Rui’an, one of Wenzhou’s sub-cities, a conflict broke out and six women were severely beaten, leaving them hospitalized.

At this time, it is unknown if authorities were successful at demolishing the church’s cross, which is a continuation of the province-wide “Three Rectifications and One Demolition” campaign that is rumored to have affected thousands of Zhejiang churches.
