XINJIANG--On Tuesday, October 27, the court in Xinjiang reportedly read Alimujiang Yimiti's verdict to him in prison. His wife Gulinuer and his lawyer Li Dunyong both received official notice from the court that the verdict would be heard, and now await the printed document that spells out his sentence. Alimujiang's wife was warned the punishment may be severe. Mr. Yimiti has been detained without a court verdict for over two years already for his alleged "illegal religious activities," as a house church Uyghur Christian.

Watch for more upcoming details on the verdict.

ChinaAid calls in the international community to pray for the ethnic and religious persecution of this Uyghur Christian to cease. We call on the Xinjiang authorities to release him from his illegal detention, and allow him to return home to his family.
