Beijing Shouwang Church Announcement on Outdoor Worship Service on August 11

Dear brothers and sisters:

Peace in the Lord! On this past Sunday, we held the thirty-second outdoor worship service of 2013. We had thundershowers in Beijing. As far as we know, at least thirty-eight believers (including one brother from another town) were taken away from locations near the platform. This time, only one third of them were released soon after they were taken away. The other two thirds were detained Zhongguancun West District police station ((formerly Zhongguancun Street police station), Garden Road police station, North Taiping Zhuang police station, and Hai Dian police station, and all got released around 14:58pm. It was really sad for us to hear that one sister was manhandled by a deputy director at Zhongguancun West District police station, who seized her by the throat and pulled her hair. Our sister calmly faced such rough treatment, and forgave this man by God’s grace. Nevertheless, we still condemn this deputy director for his evildoing. May the Lord protect and strengthen believers who attend the outdoor service. And we trust that the hearts of these law enforcement officers are in the hand of the Lord.

Through this Sunday’s sermon, God gave us great hope. For the risen Christ not only commands us to build the church on the foundation of himself, but also sends us everywhere to witness him and to expand his kingdom. We believe that our Lord will use us to win more souls and to plant more churches if we lay the good foundation of the church. May the name of Christ be exalted over all the earth! Amen!
