(Nanle, Henan—Dec. 22, 2013) ChinaAid has learned that more believers, including the youngest daughter of detained Pastor Zhang Shaojie, were detained today when more than 100 government agents blocked the congregation from entering the Nanle County Christian Church to hold a Christmas worship service.

Authorities previously detained more than 20 church members, including the pastor, on Nov. 16 and 17 (https://chinaaid.org/2013/11/three-self-sanctioned-church-pastor-and.html).

ChinaAid will continue to monitor the situation and update the story as more information becomes available. In the meantime, we ask that Christians worldwide will lift up their brothers and sisters in Christ in prayer. Ask the Lord to give the believers strength and encouragement as this celebration of our Savior approaches.
