(Pu’er, Yunnan—July 19, 2019) The Pu’er Intermediate People’s Court in Yunnan province will declare the sentence of Pastor John Cao on July 25 at 10 a.m. Beijing Time, according to information recently given to ChinaAid.

A translation of the notice is forthcoming.

The information comes just a few days after the court informed Cao’s lawyers the appeal process would be carried out as a “trial session on paper only.”

ChinaAid President Bob Fu condemned the “trial session on paper only.” The refusal by authorities to hold a court hearing is a “sham,” according to Fu.
