Freedom House releases report advising policymakers on Hong Kong

ChinaAid

(Hong Kong—Aug. 16, 2019) Freedom House, a pro-democracy American NGO, released a series of recommendations for politicians regarding Hong Kong, which is currently undergoing upheaval due to a bill that would allow China to extradite Hong Kong residents to the mainland for trial.

This bill raised alarm, as China is known for targeting human rights activists and religious practitioners, who have enjoyed relative freedom in the former British colony.

As such, Freedom House released the report, detailing the situation in Hong Kong as well as key recommendations for international policymakers. The report is available here.

ChinaAid exposes abuses in order to stand in solidarity with the persecuted and promote religious freedom, human rights, and rule of law. If you wish to partner with us in helping those persecuted by the Chinese government, please click the button below to make a charitable donation.
