(Handan, Hebei—Nov. 19, 2019) Government agents demolished a Catholic church in China’s Hebei province on Nov. 1.

The day before, a large number of officials came to carry out the demolition of the building, known as Wugaozhuang Church. Some Catholics interfered, however, and held off the demolition.

On Nov. 1, the government took action and destroyed the church, despite protests and bitter cries from its attendees. Using a crane, the officials demolished the roof and the cross atop it.

During the process, they played a song called “There Is No New China Without the Communist Party.”
