(Suzhou, Jiangsu—Nov. 13, 2019) Ge Jueping has been in custody without a verdict for three years. Now, his health is failing.
Officials took him into custody on Nov. 4, 2016. He underwent a trial, but he has not yet received a verdict.
Because he has cancer, his family members worry about his health.
On Sept. 8, 2016, authorities conducted a mass arrest of rights activists in Suzhou. Two months later, more people, including Ge and his wife, Lu Guoying, were taken away by police on the charge of inciting subversion of state power.
Some of them, including Lu, have been released, but Ge and a man named Wu Qihe are still behind bars.
