(ChinaAid Freedom File, Midland, Texas—Dec. 15, 2020) Pastor Bob Fu, ChinaAid President, relates ways the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has used the pandemic to restrict worship. Officials have even shut down State-sanctioned churches. CCP authorities have forbidden house churches to gather in person, as well as virtually. Before authorities would issue a permit for a church to reopen, they had to pay for an “essential” health inspection. At times, God reveals His sense of humor, Pastor Fu says. Persecution has historically fueled revival, the exact opposite of what persecutors plan—not what the CCP has expected or wants.
