ChinaAid signs joint letter to Biden administration: Recommends a human rights approach to US-China policy

(ChinaAid—Feb. 18, 2021) On February 17, along with 23 other NGOs, ChinaAid signed the following  letter to President Biden and senior officials on US-China (CCP) relations. In the text, the 24 NGO leaders submitted eight major recommendations: 

1. Make human rights a priority in China policy.

2. Play an active role in international bodies that can promote human rights in China.

3. Focus on technology.

4. Provide strong and steadfast support to human rights defenders 
    and civil society activists across China.

5. Treat the 2022 Olympics as a diplomatic matter.

6. Maintain existing targeted sanctions.

7. Counter Chinese government and Chinese Communist Party propaganda.

8. Choose words carefully.

China Aid urges the Biden Administration to take the Chinese Communist Party’s threat against human rights and US interests seriously. We will continue to work with our partners around the globe to advance religious freedom and rule of law in China as well as hold persecutors accountable.
