(ChinaAid, Midland, TX) Zhang Qing, the wife of Guo Feixiong, released a public statement begging for her husband to visit in her final days. She currently suffers from terminal colon cancer while her husband, a prominent Chinese human rights activist, remains stranded in China. Read her public statement below:

My life is coming to the end, I am desperate, when can I see my husband? Yang Maodong (aka Guo Feixiong), please come over quickly.

It’s been 20 days since I had my second bowel obstruction, and a new intestinal cancer mass has grown where I had surgery last time. The cancer cells are spreading all over my body, and I am vomiting and bloating forever. The abdominal pain was so bad that I could only walk bent over and the pain all over my body made it almost impossible to sleep …… I often had trouble catching my breath and felt like I was nearing the end of my
rope.

This hospital in Maryland, USA, where I am currently located, says there is no cure, and the doctors back home say it’s only a month or two away. Yesterday I went to see a doctor at the world-renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital, and their doctors also said that it is currently spreading everywhere and that there is nothing they can do to cure it and to be prepared. How can I not be desperate?

But I’m only fifty-four years old and I have two children, I’m not willing to give up! Yang Maodong, my husband, you come quickly. You take me to those hospitals willing to do emergency surgery. I would like to do my best to fight, and I do not want to just give up. You told me repeatedly on the phone that my body’s foundation is still intact, and that
I can still be saved!

We have been married for thirty years, thirty years of conjugal love and affection is as deep as the sea. For the past ten years, I have been struggling alone in a foreign country with no relatives, bringing up two children. I have worked hard for my family and for my two children, and I have done right to you.

Our daughter Sara Tianjiao wrote to you today:
“No matter how much we annoy our mother and make her angry, we are her
flesh and blood. The ones she came [with] to the U.S. and fought hard to raise for
12 years, the ones who grew up with her during these 25 years. You feel your
own conscience, can you stand up to Zhang Qing? Can you stand up to Yang
Tianjiao? Can you stand up to Peter Yang Tianze?”

Yang Maodong, my husband, at this last moment, why don’t
you come over to take care of me and lead me to fight hard? Please answer
Tianjiao’s question: Can you live up to the three of us, mother, daughter, and
son?

Although I am strong, I am still a weak woman, I have
overcome all the difficulties over the years, but this time I really can’t
stand the pain and suffering. I really can’t hold on. And even if I’m not
saved, I still want to see you one last time. I dream of seeing you one last
time, one last time.

Yang Maodong, I’ve been waiting for you to come over
and treat me for ten months, why haven’t you come over, do you know how
desperate and sad I am now? Yang Maodong, come here, come and save me! You are
my last hope, my last hope, I am waiting for you to come over, when will you
come over?
