Midland Mayor's Proclamation of China Religious Freedom Month

P R O C L A M A T I O N



WHEREAS,     China Aid Association is an international non-profit Christian human rights organization committed to promoting religious freedom and the rule of law in China from its headquarters office based in Midland, Texas; and

WHEREAS,     religious freedom is the first freedom, which lays the foundation for all other basic human rights; and

WHEREAS,     China Aid Association strives to promote religious freedom for all by exposing abuses, encouraging the abused, and legally equipping leaders to defend their faith and freedom; and

WHEREAS,     by drawing worldwide attention to those deprived of their religious and human rights freedoms in China, the circumstances of the persecuted will be altered for their individual betterment and, by extension, for the betterment of freedom worldwide; and

NOW, THEREFORE, in the tenth year anniversary of the founding of China Aid Association, I, W. Wesley Perry, Mayor of the City of Midland, Texas, do hereby proclaim the month of April 2012 as:

“CHINA RELIGIOUS

FREEDOM MONTH”


throughout the City of Midland and urge all citizens to honor both the persecuted individuals, brave defenders of religious freedom and rule of law in China.  We thank the independent religious organizations including house churches and would like to celebrate the achievement of China Aid and her founder Rev. Xiqiu (Bob) Fu for advancing religious freedom and rule of law in China and encourage citizens to support and partner with China Aid in her mission.
                      
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Midland, Texas, to be affixed this 14th day of April 2012.
